The
HARD ROAD
(tv series)
It is a cable oriented, half-hour show, that will have a huge demographic appeal.
I think that if you present it to them, Showtime or HBO will snap it right up.
My working title for this project is, 'The Hard Road'. The idea is a mixture
of 'Red Shoe Diaries', and VH1's "Where are they Now?". The idea is
to have a celebrity musician share the memory of a steamy love affair that they
had while on the road.
The actual star would come out and introduce the piece, much like is done with
David Duchovney in 'Red Shoe Dairies'. This would lead to a dramatized re-enactment
of the romantic encounter that was described. The role of the celebrity can be
played by an actor, or in some cases, by the musicians themselves.
Basically the dramatized segment would consist of :
1. Introduction of Character 2. The life and times of the era
3. Short depiction of stage performances 4. Several sensual scenes 5. Background
music will feature this artist's hits.
The actual musician comes back at the end and wraps up the piece. Perhaps in
some cases, a happy reunion of the participants can be done.
I think the potential for this is type of show is unlimited. You get the adult
crowd that likes 'Red Shoe Diaries', the VH1 crowd, and the 'inquiring minds
want to know' crowd. In short time, musicians will be knocking down the door
for a chance to tell their story.
The range of subject matter is awesome. There is a seemingly inexhaustable supply
of famous musicians with different styles, different looks, from different eras
in history. There are a great many of them who are not shy when speaking about
sexual adventures. This forum would be a great place showcase their hits and
re-establish their image in the public's mind, hopefully leading to increased
record sales.
New artists, older artists and even dead artists (with a different introduction
of course) would be used. The locations, slang, costumes, culture and historical
references will enhance the segments. Animation and computer effects could also
be used for the more wild pieces. For the stars whose horniness is lengendary
(Madonna, Prince, Bette Midler, Mic Jagger), an hour may be needed.
Imagine the great stories that could be built around the likes of : Jimi Hendrix,
Willie Nelson, Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Charlie Parker, Jewel, Carlos Santana,
Bob Marley, BB King, Jerry Garcia, Rick James, Janis Joplin, Ray Charles, Tupac
Shakur, Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Duke Ellington and Barry White. Talk about
DIVERSITY. No two shows would be alike.
Imagine someone like Mariah Carey, playing herself, belting out a number, and
acting out a sexual fantasy on cable ... with nude scenes. Let's face it. You
know it as well as I do. People will watch. Lots and lots of people will watch.
